Explaining Heart Transplant Life a Bit More...

This is a short comic I did early on about my struggle juggling a “bad medical day” with my intense schoolwork. I’ve had many bad depression days over the years, and I worked through them when I was in my career as a professional artist. But if you’re a premed at Columbia, you have to be doing your best all day every day to keep up. With my heart failure getting worse, it felt like I was just dropping the ball in every department and I refused to ask for help. After a while, I knew I had to reach out. And so I did! (In my own way starting out small!)
Written early on while waiting for a dr appointment, there are multiple ways this comic shows that it was meant only to be a rough draft. Unfortunately, a cleaner final version was never made but I think the draft is still worth being a part of the portfolio.
